Abundant Life Ministries (ALM) is a faith-based community organization dedicated to improving health access, supporting healing, fostering worship, and practicing loving service in Northeast Greensboro. Affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, ALM partners closely with St. Francis Outreach and other local churches and community organizations. The Rev. Audra Abt helped develop and launch ALM in 2019.

Along with many other services, ALM provides a community meal held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit every Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm. During this time, there is also Bible study, prayer, and a nurse clinic. This simple gathering provides equitable access to nutrition and health care for neighbors in this underserved area while promoting community togetherness and discussion.

What Can You Do?
St. Francis feeds the community on the 4th Tuesday of each month. We provide 5 casseroles (red sauce pasta, meat main dishes, and vegetarian), although any main dishes like rotisserie chicken, BBQ, roasts, etc. are greatly appreciated. We also provide 4 trays of vegetables and 4 bags of fresh fruit to feed around 30-50 people. The food should be cooked ahead of time and cooled for easy transport to Holy Spirit. ALM will reheat the food. Donna Ehinger is the coordinator for donations and delivery and meets you in the parking lot of St. Francis to collect your food. She will work with you if you
can’t be there at the scheduled drop-off time. Food can be left in the St. Francis kitchen anytime from Sunday after church until Tuesday at 3:30 pm.

Don’t like to cook? Sign up to volunteer to serve and help clean up. Parishioner Ginger Hinton is a regular volunteer and would be happy to have your help.

The sign-up for providing food and volunteering is titled “4th Tuesday Meals for Abundant Life Ministries” and is listed in every email express under “Recurring Events”. See the sign-up for more information and how to contact Donna for questions. Please consider helping with this important service St. Francis provides—It’s easy and rewarding!
