Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled As to console; To be understood, as to understand, To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
The Season of Stewardship Season has Arrived!
For both of us as we walk through this thing called life, we are aware of constant reminders of all the blessings that God has given to us. We are blessed beyond belief. One huge blessing in the lives of both our families has been St. Francis Episcopal Church. Her (SFEC) many ministries, both inside and outside the church, provide countless vital services to all in our community. These ministries are managed and operated by the wonderful SF people of our church.
We’re talking examples of ministries like our beloved choir and the joy that they provide for us each Sunday. Beautiful music. Our Day School is another wonderful ministry which instills God’s love in our children. And then we have St. Clare’s ministering to ladies and the Prayer Shawl group who make comforting shawls for all. We have active parishioners involved in the Greensboro Urban Ministry Breakfast as well as Meals on Wheels and Food Assistance. They are all working towards insuring that families have something to eat. Habitat attracts those who want to help provide shelter to folks who have none. All these done by the people of St. Francis. There are many ministries around St. Francis. In one way or another we ALL work towards helping other people. What a treasure St. Francis is in our lives.
And speaking of treasures, it is that time of year…. Stewardship Season. Now that we have completed our beeeeeautiful new campus, it is time for us (as a Parish) to raise St. Francis to the next level…..financially.
When your Pledge Card arrives in the mail shortly, please prayerfully consider joining your Stewardship and Leadership Teams by increasing your pledge (for 2017) by 5% over 2016. Or if you have not given in the past, please consider joining us in our efforts to raise St. Francis. We are asking each one to prayerfully consider returning your treasures to help this precious church we call St. Francis. “Our” St. Francis.
Much love, Jeff Gardiner and Sherry Welch (Stewardship Team).
