Lord, make us instruments of your peace; Where there is hatred, let us sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand, To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
And this Stewardship season help us, as well, to be aware that in Your Word it says: "give and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back."
Thank You always for Your bounty towards us.
Joyfully Join Us on the Journey!
Itís Stewardship Season... one of Carole/Rick/Chris' favorite seasons of the Church year! This time of year we are particularly reminded of all the blessings we have in our lives as we are sure you are aware of yours. How can one think of blessings and St Francis not be at the top of your list?
Good Stewardship is necessary for us as a community of faith to be healthy, as well as to accomplish all that God has called us to do. When we practice stewardship we are being good shepherds of all we are called to care for. As we know, loving Jesus is much more about doing the work of ministry Ė making sure we are taking care of our neighbors, who are less fortunate than we are, and people in our Parish who find themselves in the midst of a crisis Ė than long pious testimonies.
We are mission focused, this Stewardship season, looking at the "SHIPS" (ie: worship, leadership, discipleship, fellowship and, of course, stewardship) and what integral components they are to life at St. Francis. Join us on the journey as we seek to keep on rollin' into a new season for St. Francis.
Please look for pledge cards to be arriving at your house, or in the pew rack, which you can fill out & return via email, in the collection or on In-gathering Sunday, November 5th. You may also pledge online. The Stewardship Committee, Carole Fisher, Rick Saunders & Chris Relos
