The St. Francis Annual Book/Media Sale is a fundraising activity of St. Francis Episcopal Church, which has been taking place in Greensboro for the last 59 years. With more than 50,000 items, there are many different types of volunteer opportunities available. The annual book sale is adapting to the changing market by adding media items and small electronics. All proceeds from this non-profit sale go directly to provide financial support to local charities. Some organizations that have benefited from this sale in recent years include StepUp Ministry, Food Assistance, Mobile Meals, Rise Against Hunger, Greensboro Urban Ministry and Sanctuary House.
There are many ways for you to help in the continued success of the St. Francis Annual Book/Media Sale.
Although our physical book sale takes place only once a year, we prepare year-round. Tons of books, DVDs, CDs, games, and other items are donated each year, and we rely on volunteer help to sort them into our sale categories. There are many other areas where year-round help is needed. Certain items need to be cleaned, tested, prepared and researched. We can also use help in seeking select donations and promoting the sale throughout the year.
We do not require a long-term commitment. You don't have to volunteer for a specific time or a specific number of hours, and there is no requirement to sign up in advance. For more information about volunteering, contact the Book Sale Garage Manager.
